Demolish Buildings and Build New Parking Structure
Winspear Construction has been the General Contractor for the demolition of four commercial building structures and construction of a new 4 level, 326 parking space, cast in place concrete parking structure at the Veterans Hospital in Reno, Nevada. We were awarded the contract for this project at the beginning of February 2019 and began demolition services at the end of February.
The project comprises of approximately 20,500 sf of demolition: concrete sidewalks/curb, asphalt paving, underground utilities, landscaping, and irrigation. Site preparation consisted of approximately 25,000 sf of grading and necessary backfill to prepare the site for the construction of the new parking structure.
Construction of the nearly 5,000 cubic yard concrete parking structure consisting of phased concrete placements, post tensioning, installation and upkeep of temporary access routes, HVAC system, domestic water, fire alarm system, electrical, telecom, finishes, painting, and other related architectural work for a fully functional facility.
